grudges are waste of perfect happiness

Laugh when you can

Apologize when you should

and let go of what you can't change

Love deeply and forgive quickly

Take chances

Give everything and have no regrets

Take the good with the bad

and let go of what you can't change

and always remember what you had

always forgive, never forget

Learn from your mistakes

Finally, my training at Le Meridien Hotel has ended a few days ago. Here are the front office departments where I went to:

Royal Club (Executive Floor)

Business Centre

Concierge

Service

Frankly, I really like working at the Business Centre, thanks to Elina and Mary Ann, I’m now quite good at managing the Business Centre. I know how to send faxes, updating staff leave roster, sending thank you letters, typing guest credit limit approval letter and etc. It’s not bad working here as I get to look at what documents they use at the front office, which is therefore useful for me in future =)

Working at Le Royal Club was pretty fascinating as well. What’s pleasant there is I get to learn how to perform check-in & check-out task and consume the mouth-watering buffet provided for the guest. And not to mention, I get to drink all sorts of drinks… including wine and champagne =) Don’t be jealous hor…

Honestly, working at Le Meridien Hotel aint that terrible like I used to complain. All you need is to take a little bit of time to adjust to the environment and people there. It goes the same wherever and whichever hotel you choose to go. Trainees sometimes can be a burden because we know nothing and we can’t help much. But if your hotel has a trainee like me, I think you guys will untung lor.. I’m one hardy soul that can work really well and I will still smile to everyone even if the previous 5 minutes I kena tiu kau kau. No matter what, I think all my hard work had paid off because my appraisal forms are all awesome! Hehehehe…

Here are some updates about my personal life:

First and foremost… My bee is officially working right now at Pandan Indah, Ampang which is about 5-10 minutes drive from his aunt’s house. We’re both very happy with the salary and allowance the company is providing him. Though this job is very less related to his field, but he’s contented to try out something different and I see this job just as a stepping stone to better things. Apart from that, it’s so much convenient now that my bee has a car. We can almost stop relying on public transports and not to mention, meeting each other is a lot easier =) We’ve already planned where to head this weekend and I can foresee that I’ll only look forward to the weekends from now onwards. Oh well, I’ve always looked forward to weekends since training started anyway =)

Secondly, I was so surprised to see My Dear’s new blog =) I understand geh… Start a new life with your precious Lurve one should associate with a New blog also right? Hehehe. When you guys started? How come didn’t sms me this big and shocking news ar? Hahaha.. My Dear ar, I’m very happy for you. Nowadays when I think of you, I somehow think of you differently already. Like you’re so mature already but I think still the same lahh hor? Your boy boy very yeng wor. Hahaha. Anyway, congratulations My Dear ! Hope he’ll bring lots of happiness to you and I know he’ll take good care of you. Oh my goodness, I write till like you are getting married tim. Hahaha. Next outing, you organize la since you shock xiemin, wi wen and myself =) Miss you so much!

I’ve still got so many things in my head that I wish to type them out but… I guess I’ll let the pictures do the talking =)

JUST THE TWO OF US

Saturday was great, we had so much fun. We had breakfast and lunch within Ipoh town and they were thoroughly satisfying!

Char Kuey Teow was simply mind-numbling delicious! Not forgetting, we had sotong kangkung as well and the custard pudding with crème caramel tasted exactly like the ones we made in Taylor’s College with Chef Tan. Sigh, I miss them.

Thank god I have a boyfriend who's as much of a foodie as I am. We appreciate food together and I love that. The man I love, loves all that I love too, which makes me a lucky girl here! We're like in sync with each other.

Baby sent me back and met the rest of my relatives (including my aunt, grandparents and cousins… practically almost everyone!) And they loved him! My grandma even forced him to attend our relative’s wedding dinner later that night. He got along pretty well with all my cousins. I'm proud of

him.

CONSERVATORY

... was pretty good. It's a bar and lounge where people usually order drinks and light snacks. They have live band every day except Sunday and it features
Jazz concept. The band consist of a pianist, bass player, saxophonist and a gorgeous singer. I learned a lot of new stuff there like making beverages, using the micros system, the several types of glasswares and so forth.

Honestly, the environment there is a total opposite to Latest Recipe. Over here, in Conservatory, skills and knowledge are needed. Where else,
Latest Recipe is like orang kuli kind of work. Even a kid whom has just finished his/her UPSR can work there and i'm serious. In Latest Recipe, they dont even allow me to enter the bar except Faizal and they don't even allow me to touch the micros system. See how terrible? In Conservatory, however, they've guided me well throughout my 1 week of training there.

Because of limited time of training here, i did not learn much about cocktails and mocktails.. which is a sad sad thing. Thought maybe i can show off my mocktails-making skills when i get back to TayLors. Hahahaha.

So anyway, here are the pictures.

The day before i left
Latest Recipe. I kinda miss it now actually. But no, i'm not going back there because i'll knacker myself in the first hour if i do. Like i've mentioned in my previous post, its Dog-tired-kinda-job.

Now, back to my personal life. Despite being so occupied and tired, we still managed to find some time in between my breaks and off days to hang out together.
I
miss him a lot and not being able to see him that often makes me very sad.

Hopefully he'll be able to get a job in KL as soon as possible. I know he isn't very happy being jobless at the moment, especially when the country is sliding into the depths of a recession.

My other half :)
In case you're wondering why is he holding that sushi king glass- that's his first time ever visit to Sushi King.
How cute.

My bee is always not focused when taking pictures.
Or.. maybe he just didn't know where to focus on, as always

My bee, in a very cute pose.

That's me, after work and my darling in red.

I bet you miss reading my blog posts!

I’m having 3 days off in a row, today (Sunday), Monday and Tuesday. I’ll be working in Latest Recipe on Wednesday, which will be my last day and then I’m moving to Conservatory. It’s a lounge and bar with live entertainment, serves light snacks and innovative cocktails. Oh, and it’s just next to the lobby.

Latest Recipe isn’t a very good place to work, if you asked me. It’s really tiring and every time I’m back home, I just wanna plonk my entire self on the bed. When I was working in the morning shift, I would reach home by 5pm and by 8.30pm, I’ll sleep till the next morning. Dog-tired kinda job. Frankly, all you ever do is carry this and that, follow orders, do this and that and etc. When I try to take orders, the staffs get pissed at me. I realize when I work, the guests like to talk to me. I don’t know why. I’ve got guests written many pleasant comments about me (they usually address me by ‘the Chinese waitress’) in the guest comment cards, I get along with all the guests so well and simply, I think guests just prefer someone who serves them with a smile- and that’s me!

Everywhere I go, from the kitchen to the dining room, I’ll carry a smile on my face. When I talk to guests, I sincerely talk with a smile. And I noticed the other staffs don’t really smile while talking to guests, which I have no idea why. I’m not trying to outsmart them or show-off but we’re serving in a 5 star hotel, therefore, show some 5 star services and don’t serve glumly. No one likes it and you make people lose appetite seeing your lugubrious face!

I may not have much experience as you guys have, but try putting yourself in the guests’ shoes.

It’s pretty hard for me to get along with the rest of the staffs actually. I think the main factor is because I’m a Chinese. Wait… I’m the ONLY Chinese. And since I speak really atrocious Malay language, I sometimes speak English… which turns them off. Thank goodness, the only person whom I can trust and could communicate well is with Mr.Surinder. He’s the manager and he’s really kind. He said he’ll fill in the appraisal form personally for me (usually the asst.manager will do it). Hehehehe.

Honestly, I really do prefer working in the evening shift though, where we serve buffet dinner. Reasons :

1)      The staffs here are more mature compared to the morning crews

2)      The staffs don’t push you around and mistreat u like their slave

3)      They’re more understanding and caring

4)      They’re more helpful and friendly

5)      I get to eat the buffet in the Private Dining Room after work (I’ll whack all the oysters and mussels usually. Hehe)

6)      Lesser work to do

7)      More fun and friendly guests.

8)      I get to take beverage orders

9)      The captain, Izuan, is way better and he always ask me if I’m unsure of anything or would like to know anything

10)   The waiter, Eidi, is simply so caring and fun to work with.

Here are the pictures : (Yes, I still have time and remember to take pictures, despite being so busy. You know why? I said I have to take pictures and jot down notes for my report so I can escape a bit of workload.) Hehehehe.
